Welcome to StoryDev. By accessing or using our service at storydev.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. The Service

StoryDev is an AI-assisted story writing and development platform. We provide tools to help writers outline, develop, and iterate on their stories using artificial intelligence. The service is currently in beta and features may change over time.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity that occurs under it. You must be at least 13 years old to use StoryDev. Provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it up to date.

3. Your Content

You retain full ownership of all stories, outlines, characters, and creative content you create using StoryDev. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your work.

You grant StoryDev a limited license to process and store your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not use your stories to train AI models.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use StoryDev to:

• Generate content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others
• Generate sexually explicit, pornographic, or adult-only content of any kind using the AI image generation feature
• Generate images depicting minors in any sexual or inappropriate context — this is strictly prohibited and may be reported to law enforcement
• Generate content that depicts or glorifies real-world violence, hate, or discrimination against protected groups
• Attempt to circumvent content filters or safety systems through prompt manipulation, jailbreaking, or indirect phrasing
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the service
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use the service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations

Violations of these policies may result in immediate account suspension or termination without refund.

5. AI-Assisted Features

StoryDev uses leading AI models to power its writing assistance features. AI-generated suggestions are tools to assist your creativity — they are not guaranteed to be accurate, original, or suitable for any particular purpose. You are responsible for reviewing and editing all AI-generated content before use.

We take a privacy-first approach: your stories and writing sessions are not used to train AI models.

6. AI Image Generation

StoryDev provides AI-powered image generation as a tool to help writers visualize scenes, characters, and settings. By using this feature, you agree to the following:

• Story illustration only. Image generation is provided for legitimate creative writing and story development purposes.
• Prohibited content. You may not generate sexually explicit, pornographic, nude, or adult-only images. You may not generate images involving minors in inappropriate contexts. You may not attempt to bypass content filters through indirect prompts, fictional framing, or any other technique.
• Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for all images you generate. StoryDev does not review, endorse, or take responsibility for user-generated images.
• No liability for generated content. StoryDev expressly disclaims all liability for images generated by users. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for any harm, loss, or legal consequences arising from images you generate, store, or share.
• Prompt logging. We log image generation prompts for safety monitoring and abuse prevention. Prompts that violate these terms may result in account suspension.
• Third-party AI. Images are generated by third-party AI services. We do not control their output and cannot guarantee results will be accurate, appropriate, or free of errors.

7. Free Tier and Paid Plans

StoryDev offers a free tier with limited features and image generation credits. Paid plans offer additional capabilities. We reserve the right to modify pricing, features, and plan limits with reasonable notice. Current plan details are available on our pricing page.

8. Beta Service

StoryDev is currently in beta. The service is provided "as is" and we make no guarantees regarding uptime, data retention, or feature availability. We will do our best to protect your data and maintain service continuity, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access during the beta period.

9. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, StoryDev and its founders, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to:

• Content generated by AI features, including text suggestions and images
• Images generated by you or other users using the AI image generation feature
• Loss of data, stories, or creative work
• Service interruptions or downtime during the beta period

You use StoryDev and its AI features entirely at your own risk. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on the service. Your continued use of StoryDev after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
